Terms of Use.

By accessing or using the Opal Icon website and submission services, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the site or submit any content.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to submit music or participate in Season 1. By submitting, you confirm you meet this requirement.

Creators may participate through OPAL Entry ($35 Founding Creator Pricing, Season 1 only — standard $49, 1 song), OPAL Select ($79, up to 3 songs), or OPAL Icon ($149, up to 3 songs). Founding designations include OPAL Founding Icon ($499 one-time) and OPAL MVP Founder ($2,500 one-time, limited to the first 50 creators ever). A maximum of three (3) song submissions per creator per season is permitted across all packages. Songs submitted beyond your purchased package may not be reviewed.

You must own or control all rights to submitted music, vocals, lyrics, artwork, names, and likenesses. Submissions containing unauthorized samples, third-party content, or unauthorized celebrity, artist, or public-figure likeness are prohibited.

By submitting, you grant Opal Icon a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to review, evaluate, store, display, and (where applicable) promote your submission in connection with Season 1, judging, editorial coverage, and competition operations. You retain ownership of your underlying work.

Submission package fees are processed via Stripe and are non-refundable except where required by law. Payment of a submission fee does not guarantee selection, publication, ranking, prize eligibility, or competition placement.

Opal Icon does not promise that any submission will be reviewed publicly, placed in the competition, featured, or awarded a prize. All submissions are subject to editorial review and the official Season 1 rules.

You may not submit content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that violates the rights of any third party. Opal Icon may reject, remove, or delay publication of any submission at its sole discretion.

Opal Icon may review, reject, request clarification, delay, or remove any submission for any reason consistent with the official rules and these Terms.

Official Season 1 rules, deadlines, judging criteria, prize details, and these Terms of Use may be updated before the final competition launch. The current version posted on this site governs your use.

The site and services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Opal Icon and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the site or submission services. Total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in submission fees in the prior 12 months.

These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Opal Icon operates, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
